Filter Veil

Why do we hide behind a filter veil?

Trapped inside the acceptance jail.

Bare ourselves for the world to see,

Yet hide in a mirage of lies

The lies have become we.

Most not real

Most a filtered lie,

To scramble to fit in while what really matters slips

Slips and passes us by.

They act only as a highest peak

All of which are far too steep,

Do not become one of the acceptance sheep.

So why attempt the climb that is not real

Or attempt to slow this social circus wheel?

Love yourself

To your very core,

Not a version commanded by these Social matador.

  1. Yes, always be yourself… Whether you’re accepted or not. Trying to fit in only ruins our own unique and diverse personalities. We’re so much better when we stay true to ourselves. šŸ˜‰

  2. Very well said. Social media can in some cases cause people to act out of character. For some others trying to fit into what some other persons deem to be the status quo. Some days I think it’s not worth the hassle

    1. Thank you for the comment. It just gives people, especially young people, this warped idea of what is important and what isnt. I have fallen into the acceptance trap from time to time, I suspect most have. Too much pressure.
